Twitter traffic facts

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

I am running an experiment on what kind of traffic is coming out of Twitter. I didn’t find reliable statistics on Twitter traffics. I need to know what percentage is on mobile (I wonder if it’s really around 50%), how well it converts, how different is the traffic from Twitter trend searches and from regular message stream. I will post my findings here during week.

Restoring online business

Friday, June 17th, 2011

Some time ago several of my blogs stopped working. I was sure they were hacked. I was ready to do full restore of the damaged blogs but surprisingly I didn’t have to. The simple update of WordPress to ver.3 was enough to fix the bug.

Back to School Traffic

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

After steady decline of traffic in late August I finally got a rebound. It’s fun to watch this “Back to School” traffic gap repeating every year. Kids got back to class and parents back to their computers. Now let’s see some sales, folks.

All my domain were down for 6 hours

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

I guess I need to get back. It’s good to write to your blog when trying to do some systematic work.

Yesterday mu hoster reported that I generate too much load on the server and blocked my account. It happened at 10:40 PM local time. I had to clean up comments on all blogs, delete one blog with over-sized DB and disable a lot of plugins. My sites came back online at 3 :20 AM.

I wonder what effect this downtime will have on search traffic. I will monitor traffic for a week and then post the graph.

Should I send traffic to FriendFinder?

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I wonder if I should continue to sent traffic to FriendFinder. Today I tried to register as a member on FriendFinder.com. No cheating, I didn’t use my own links. Just wanted to take a look from inside. And I failed to register! Registration page doesn’t accept any e-mails except the one from BreakThru.com. And BreakThru.com doesn’t allow to register a new e-mail. No wonder I am getting very low traffic/signs ration with FriendFinder. Now the question is – how do I change several hundred links on my blogs?

July Statistics. Traffic and revenue went up a bit.

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

Got the final report for July. Looks like the worst time of the summer has past. Total revenue is up by 30% compared to June. Traffic added moderate 14%. Overall I am making 27 dollars for 1K traffic sent to sponsor. This ration in June was $44.7 / 1K. The poor quality of my current traffic is due to seasonal problems (damn students on vacation) and large number of new blogs I recently launched. Those just hasn’t picked up enough SE traffic yet.

Overall numbers for July:

Traffic: +14%
Revenue: +30%
Ratio: $27/1K

Again the best ratio was shown by Revshare: $63/1K

Detailed statistics for June. Summer is for vacation. Not for biz.

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Finalized statistics for June.

Traffic: +48%
Revenue: -28%

The traffic increased because I launched a bunch of new blogs. On all my existing sites traffic decreased in June. Conversion ration went down. Traffic simply didn’t convert. Looks like all adults with credit cards went on vacations and students got to the computers. Maybe it’s better to shut down the biz for June and go on vacation. Sales went down in all niches.

June statistics. Vacations are bad for the biz.

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

May was a good month. Good traffic, good sales. June was almost a
disaster. Almost no sales, just a bunch of re-bills. The worst time was
June 9 through Lune 23. Still had descent traffic on my blogs, but it
simply didn’t convert.

Conversion ratios:
CashManiacs: 1:1389
Serious coins: 1:518
CL-Cash:1:1987
Revshare: 1:714

All traffic from blogs. I looked at what people say of the forums. I am not the only one like that. Looks like it’s s vacation time. Surfers with credit cards went on vacation and students got to computers. The quality of traffic
degrades in the summer.
